Genting, Malaysia (9-11 November 2007)

I just reached home and I don't feel like sleeping even though I'm not suffering from any jet lag (wahlao I thought there was a time difference of one hour between Singapore and Malaysia). Whatever I had lots of fun during the past few days with the family and Popo and Poh Long and Weihui!!! Took like almost 600 photos!

Day 1: (Skip this) Woke up damn early to wash up and then the family + Poh Long took a Maxicab to Lavender MRT station. The cab was cool and it was my first time sitting in a MPV! Had a real smooth journey 'cause there were no cars on the road and we reached at a little past six. Met Weihui and Popo there and did some administrative stuff before we were sent to some bus terminal to get on to another bus. We were supposed to sit on a double decker bus with comfy massage seats and personal TVs but the T agency told us last minute that they were gonna open up another bus for us and it turned out to be this single deck bus with damn ahma chairs (you know, the colour clash patterns?) and small stiff second-hand lookalike TVs!! Whatever la felt so cheated, we paid for a Premium bus! We're so not gonna book tickets from them anymore. If we're going to Malaysia again, that is. Anyway, it was a long way to Genting, we left at seven and reached at one, the scenery was not bad, saw the Twin Towers halfway. Most of us were sleeping the whole time and didn't even bother watching the TV/ using the massage chairs so we came to a conclusion that those facilities were kind of wasteful. But Weihui and I maximised the use of the facilities! We watched Winnie the Pooh & friends, Eight & Below (love it!), some B-type boyfriend show, and Bring It On. I brought along Animal Farm to read and I only went through ten pages and never continued.

Checked in at Genting Hotel and we went out for a heavy lunch at the Pizza Factory @ Genting Hotel! The garlic bread was damn good. And Weihui and I frightened little kiddos :D After which we went to explore the place and passed by the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum at First World Plaza. Mummy decided to get us tickets but ended up getting a combo ticket for the museum as well as the Van Helsing 3D thing. I thought the Van Helsing thing was just gonna be a show where you put on those special paper glasses and see things pop out but NOOOOO, IT WAS A FREAKING HAUNTED HOUSE. So the four of us (Emily, Poh Long, Weihui and I) entered in a single file with hands on one another's shoulders. Got scared the hell out of ourselves!!! I didn't even bother putting on the paper glasses because they kept falling off so I didn't see the 3D effects. Emily said that this female ghost was supposed to look as if she was coming towards you. Haha but I'm quite relieved that I didn't see those effects 'cause the monsters played by real people were already scary enough!!! We had to walk through this corridor with heads popping out from both sides of the walls, hahaha we were all damn scared so Poh Long walked first, followed by Emily, Weihui and I. (DAMN SCARY TO BE THE LAST K) Then every now and monsters jumped out from no where to freak us out, luckily they didn't grab us or anything, if not I'll just faint inside. At this corner we saw this monster which was getting ready to scare us so we prepared to scream at it first and that person laughed before scaring us again hahaha. Okay then after that this green head person came out and then he came really close to us so Weihui was like, 'DON'T TOUCH ME! DON'T TOUCH ME!!" and it was an adverse effect! That green head tailed us behind, AND I WAS THE LAST ONE! Oh Weihui freaked out so badly she hit herself damn hard on this chair and got a cut :( Okay, after that I don't remember seeing anything 'cause I was closing my eyes the whole time -.- Yeah, Van Helsing 3D was five minutes of suspense and fear! Oh yes and my shoes went in white and came out black 'cause Weihui kept stepping on my shoes hahaha.

After that we went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, was damn cool. Ok I can't possibly talk about all of them but there was this mirror and we were supposed to try rolling our tongues and then towards the end we realised that it was a special mirror and people could see us from the other side, doing all the stupid things hahaha. There was also the statue of fertility (touch and get pregnant :O), the truth-telling chair, lucky horse shoe chair, huge chair custom made for the biggest man etc. The museum was really worth the money and we spent like an hour inside looking at the exhibits. Towards the end of the museum there were some coolio mirrors which distorted us like shit, which we all had a great time playing with.

And then the adults called and met us for shopping, I only got three tops (one same as Weihui, we'll wear it out one day!) during the whole trip, there wasn't much to buy. Dinner at Lao You Ji @ Genting Hotel, the food was okay la but the waitress got qianbian face hehehe. They appear to be very high tech, they had this device whereby you press and then they will come to serve you and you can ask for water/ bill/ just call them over, but the devices were not working at all la please -.- ACBC. Okay then we went to McDonald's for McFlurry! Cool man they had McFlurry with M&Ms :) After that we went back to the hotel to rest and then the adults went to the casino while the four of us walked around at First World Plaza before going back for sleep.

^ Check out my eye mole!

^ Hahaha the figurine was so real it even had armpit hair!! This guy survived a shark attack, his organs were even showing la gross.

^ Look at Weihui's double chin MUAHAHAHA.

^ My father thought Weihui's bangle was an ash tray he threw rubbish in it.

Day 2: Wanted to wake up at like seven in the morning for the international breakfast buffet at Coffee Terrace @ Genting Hotel but we ended up waking up at past nine, and we only ate for less than an hour 'cause the food sucked quite a lot! Oh Weihui wore the It's Not Me It's You shirt!! Can't believe I missed the chance to wear that shirt with her hahaha I saw it when I was packing for the trip but I chose not to bring it along.

Anyway after that Mummy and the four of us went to the First World Outdoor Theme Park! Mummy is the coolest (wo)man, she hangs out with us instead of going to the casino with my father and Popo. I love how colourful the theme park is. First we took the Spinner, it's like flying chairs la you sit on them and they go round and round real high and you're supposed to enjoy the view of the theme park from up there/ just enjoy the breeze but Weihui was screaming her lungs out!? HAHA but I got a little bit dizzy after that o.o Then it was the Double Deck Carousel, which was really pretty but kind of slow we could even walk when it was moving. Wheee I love the horses and all. Okay we went to this Green House place after that, it was very lame, there were just flowers and bushes inside not attractive at all. Then we took the Cyclone, which consisted of three plunges and they were damn shiok ok!! Hahaha like Mummy, Weihui, me, and some random Indian girl who was ALONE sat in one carriage and we saw our faces at the photo kiosk it was like ~o~ haha k never mind. Walked past a koi pond and there were so damn many fishes inside?! Like, so many that some can actually go above water level by just jumping on their fellow fishes. And Weihui could 'conduct' them damn well, hahaha like all the fish went towards her when Weihui did some stupid actions. I guess they were just hungry and they thought she was a big piece of meat, HAHAHA. Ok Emily tried and then only some fishes went to her lol! After that Weihui and I sat in this carriage (maximum only 2 per ride, damn scary!!) in the Pirate Train, hahaha we were so scared to even open our eyes omg we actually just shut our eyes throughout the whole ride and we didn't see anything at all LOL. We only heard this scream and then we all screamed like hell (with our eyes still shut). Hahaha, wasted ride man. Poh Long sat through it alone 'cause we had an odd number, (Y). Next up was Corkscrew, there was a super long queue la but it moved quite fast and definitely was worth the wait! I think it was my first time on a roller coaster with a 360 degrees turn! And the first plunge was the thriller manz! Then we wanted to take the Space Shot but we decided to go to Dinosaurlaaaaand -.- Mummy sat down to wait for us 'cause she was tired. We thought it would be some lameass place but there was this bridge on which you get a real good view of everything and the wind was just so fine :) We went down Dinosaurland (should've been called the DinosaurHill or something) and queued for the Space Shot, Mummy, Emily, Poh Long and I took the ride, Weihui was quite scared at first. We queued for almost one solid hours man. I think it's the scariest ride I've ever taken!! It went up and came down so fast that it was as if my soul was still up there and my body's already way below! The feeling up there was cool though.

Went to Kenny Rogers for lunch, it's my first time having a meal there since how many years la! The family used to always go there until we saw a cockroach crawling around :S The muffins were still as good! :) After that Mummy went to find my father and Popo while the four of us went back to the hotel to SLEEP. YEAH, SLEEP!!! We wasted so much time sleeping hahaha I think for like six hours we slept, till it was dinner. And we went to Sushi King for dinner (eat sleep eat!!) The sushi there was had the preserved look, very disgusting and it made me crave for Sakae Sushi. The food there sucked la but the little Yakult was nice. After that the five of us went back to the Theme Park and it looked a whole lot different from in the afternoon, so much more prettier. Took the Spinner, Super Toboggan, wanted to take the Ferris Wheel but it was out of order, Space Shot, Corkscrew x2, Cyclone. The Super Toboggan was like this tube and you just sit in a car and then you slide down, my car moved damn slowly la! Too fat already zzzzz. Weihui and I took the Space Shot together and she was again screaming like shit la!!! Hahaha when we were not even going down yet. And seriously I think it's the freakiest ride 'cause I still felt very scared when it's my second time on it. We took the Corkscrew twice consecutively because there were no one!! And we actually waited for so long in the afternoon. Emily and I sat in the first carriage and it was damn shiok! Haha then we went to sit on the Cyclone, only the four of us though.

Oh HIGHLIGHT HIGHLIGHT: You know when the four of us were in the carriage, the usual kiasu me kept tugging on the rod which keeps us from falling to see if it's secured and it wasn't so I kept asking my sister. And we didn't do anything about it till we were like the next one to go and then we asked Poh Long and Weihui behind and realised that theirs was secured already!! Wahlao and that person was about to let us go already. Imagine if we had gone on the ride like dummies and then get fling out of the carriage!!! We could've died la, okay it is not very climaxy but I should go on the I Shouldn't be Alive show, HAHAHA. Oh so anyway that person was quite shocked that the machine is like spoiled BUT HE DIDN'T APOLOGIZE. He directed us to another carriage. After us they did not let anyone in anymore and closed the ride. Zzzzz I am very not pleased with their service. If my sister and I had died I wonder how much money they're gonna pay my parents, haha like the price of the ticket to the theme park...?

After that it was kind of late and we saw a lot cars waiting outside the Arena of Stars and we thought probably Cyndi Wang was gonna come out from there so we waited for her to come out but the cars turned out to be for some random people. By the way Cyndi Wang was having her concert there and we could hear from outside hahaha for free. And Lin Jun Jie was the guest star!!!!!! Ok so we didn't see anyone so we left for the hotel. Mummy went to look for my father and Popo again while the four of us went down to the Bakery @ Genting Hotel for hot chocolate and cakes. The hot chocolate was damn cool, like, you have to melt your own chocolate in a glass of milk. Then we saw Cyndi Wang's backview!!! I think she was staying at Genting Hotel too and she was like surrounded by all the tall bodyguards, which made her look really short. Yeah, after that we went back to the hotel and slept.

Day 3: Was nothing much. We woke up late, washed up and packed up and went down to Hao You Ji again for dimsum lunch! I love dimsum la, I want to go Yum Cha soon!! After lunch we checked out and then waited at the hotel lobby for the tram to come and bring us to First World Hotel. Anyway, the journey downhill was very enjoyable, the breeze and the scenery :) When we got down the tram, Popo realised that she left one of her bags at the hotel lobby!! And her IC and cash were inside so Mummy and her took a cab back up to get it while the rest of us sat at Starbucks to wait for them. Fortunately they got Popo's bag back! While waiting we all got frappps (I keep forgetting how to spell that)! Chey I thought they were gonna be more expensive than those in Singapore but they were of about the same price. Waited for damn long till past three and then we went to the bus terminal and boarded the bus back to Singapore. We were supposed to reach Singapore at about nine but it was delayed till midnight! Can you believe it we actually sat in the bus for eight hours?! Okay la with occasional breaks in between at places with disgusting, smelly tandas plastered with cure for piles advertisements. We stopped at this place for local products as well as this petrol kiosk, where Smarties were only sold at RM 1.70 while we got them at Genting at RM 3.00!!! ROAR. The ear pressure in the bus was painful man! Weihui and I only slept for like the first hour of the journey and we talked the rest of the seven hours. Missed Singapore a lot, when we were on the journey home everything suddenly seemed so beautiful, even the HDB flats!! Super proud to be a Singaporean :) And anyway I didn't manage to get any Dunkin' Donuts, which was the greatest regret because I saw Dunkin' Donuts at two petrol kiosks but we just didn't stop at those places.

Much love, Emelia
